Join the Partnership!
The Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth & Families is seeking applications for individuals interested in becoming community representatives on the Partnership Board. Board members work with the Partnership’s paid staff to facilitate conversations among various community and school groups in Arlington in an effort promote the Developmental-Asset-Based Model of child and adolescent development (http://www.search-institute.org/).   In addition, the Partnership identifies the needs of the community through a series of surveys and it is responsible for producing the Community Report Card.  Board membership involves regular attendance at a monthly meeting, active participation in one of our committees, and a commitment to building a healthy community in Arlington.

Committees
Much of the work of the Partnership is done through committees.  You do not have to be a member of the Partnership to join a committee – anyone is welcome to join.

Board Development Committee – This committee focuses on fostering group development as the Partnership evolves and changes over time. The committee works to build a shared understanding of the Partnership’s vision and mission among its members and to clarify and redefine the roles of the members.  The Board Development Committee also develops strategies and tools to help the Partnership work effectively as a group.  Meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month, 7:30am-9:00am.

Developmental Assets Committee – The Assets Committee guides the Partnership’s effort to ensure that Arlington is an asset-building community.  This committee sets priorities for outreach to different sectors of the community and works to develop strategies to increase awareness and implementation of the Developmental Assets Framework in Arlington. Meets the third Monday of the month, 9:00am-10:30am.

Communications Committee- The Partnership is trying to enter the 21st Century and we are looking to expand our outreach to the Arlington community.   Our Communications Committee develops a communications strategic plan to reach out to a variety audiences who are enthusiastic about meeting the needs of children, youth, and families in Arlington.

Teen Network Board (TNB) Adult Advisory Committee – This committee supports the mission of the TNB (Provide a voice for Arlington teens) by working with the teens to develop and implement an action plan focused on the issues the teens have identified.  The committee also works to ensure the sustainability of the TNB and create connections between the Partnership and the TNB.

Ad hoc Committees

  • Advocacy Committee – Structures and supports Partnership advocacy efforts regarding County and School budget issues
  • Report Card Committee – The Partnership produces a Community Report Card every five years.  The Report Card Committee works with the Partnership Data coordinator on the development of the Report Card and subsequent community response to the findings in the Report Card
