Introduction

  The end of 2003 marks four years of work by the Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families to explore ways to improve the health and well-being of Arlington's young people and their families. This report highlights the Partnership's accomplishments in 2003 under the leadership of Chair Sharon Davis and Vice-Chair Linda Henderson. They include:
  1. Continued work with the Assets Initiative, raising community awareness and collecting a second round of survey data
  2. Development of a community school at Carlin Springs Elementary
  3. Completion of Arlington's first Community Report Card on the Status of Children, Youth, and Families
  4. Establishment of the Teen Network, a diverse board of Arlington teens working to provide youth input to the Partnership
  5. Development of the "Get Real Now" Teen Calendar
  6. Formation of the Partnership Foundation to attract funds for Partnership initiatives
  7. Continued steps toward implementation of the Partnership's original recommendations
