What is the Partnership and Who is Involved?
The Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families is the realization of one of the major recommendations of the 1998 Citizen Task Force on Youth. The Task Force emphasized the importance of establishing a permanent community-led entity to bring interested individuals from every segment of Arlington together with School and County decision-makers to develop a consistent community agenda for Arlington children and their families. In response to this recommendation, the County Board and School Board created the Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth and Families in 1999.
The Partnership has four staff: a coordinator, a
data analyst, an assets liaison, and a teen
website coordinator.
The Partnership is made up of 24 people:
16 community members and 8 senior- level staff
representing School and County agencies involved
with children, youth and families. Responding to
the many diverse voices of the community, and
empowered by the County and School Boards, all
members of the Partnership are committed to
utilizing their collective knowledge and
expertise to ensure the development of a safe,
healthy and nurturing environment for children,
youth, and families.
